BW - J. James.jpg

"Joshua. James is a record producer, songwriter and musician who has received worldwide airplay and critical acclaim.

He became infatuated by music at an early age, initially learning drums and taking up keyboard, guitar and bass shortly afterwards.

After receiving a scholarship for Blackheath Conservatoire for Music & the Arts and making inroads into the world of classical music, Joshua. James decided he was destined for a more creative path and began writing his own contemporary songs, experimenting with DAWs to produce his music.

Early on in his career, he was a part of the music collective, ‘Last Night In Paris’, whilst also drawing inspiration from the music he was surrounded by during his time in Ghana and producing artists’ music under the alias, ‘damonoway’.

Joshua. James soon found himself working with names such as Kojey Radical and Chew Lips. The collective received attention from the likes of The Guardian, BBC and national radio and press, cementing Last Night In Paris as an influential group in 21st century London.

Joshua. James has experienced a lucrative career in a short space of time, travelling around Europe to attend writing camps and working with Danish pop-band, Lukas Graham.

During the surge of the Black Lives Matter movement in the summer of 2020, Joshua. James created a special record called ‘The Appreciation’ in memory of police brutality victim George Floyd. He also created an accompanying music video using fan submissions from all over the globe.

Joshua. James’ music has also been played on national radio stations such as Capital Xtra, Reprezent and No Signal.

His personal sound has been cited as ‘oodles of ingenious machinations’, ‘lucid’ and ‘shocking and stunning at every glorious twist’ [Bearded Magazine, 2013].

During the summer of 2021, he released his debut album ‘Ten Thousand Hours’ to great acclaim with support from Capital Xtra’s iconic Hip-Hop dj ‘DJ Semtex’, Guap Magazine & Okayplayer to name but a few.”
